The JEDI Guild History

JEDI is an old guild and far older than you realize. It began in the early days of netstorm, not before guilds such as SWORD or POD, but it surfaced late 1997, when NS was released. JEDI is a guild which contains more history than any other because of so much inner conflict. A long histroy which spans 5 Epochs, 5 Epochs which must be told....

Epoch I - The birth of JEDI
The birth of JEDI was founded by DarthVader. Here he recruited many NS players such as Yoda, Han, DarthSideous etc. And during this time was the height of JEDI's power, where they were indeed a strong guild. With constant clan wars, each JEDI member was becoming more and more skilled, and they rose above many guilds in guild strength. From 1997 to 1998, JEDI had become a great ruler in the skies of nimbus, as the newly formulated "JEDI council" brought stablability and control within the guild. It was indeed JEDI's Golden Age.

Epoch II- Traitor in the mist
Though clan wars and council meetings brought about JEDI's greatest age, ironically it brought about JEDI's extinction. With the new arrival of CaptainNeeda in 1998 and Toblet shortly after, DarthVader began recuiting members to and persuade his fellow members to continue and support his leadership for JEDI. One member, a name now nearly forgotten, was a sith. He challenged DarthVader for control of JEDI. And this began the spiral downfall of JEDI. With growing hatred between the 2 NS players, DarthVader kicked the sith lord out of JEDI, however as it was known, DarthVader's computer was hacked by this sith lord, sending and wiping DarthVader's computer. Eliminating DarthVader from the scene of NS entirely. With DarthVader gone and the choas running amuck through the JEDI guild, JEDI decreased in numbers. One by one members were leaving and finally this sith lord left also. All who remained were but a few, the ones known by me were CaptainNeeda, Toblet and the veteran Yoda. The dark Ages had fallen upon JEDI...

Epoch III- The re-emergence of old
With the few appearances of JEDI kinghts now and then in NS, the JEDI guild of the old remained but in small isolated areas. But it was during 1999-2000, where JEDI hit back with a question which had not been asked in years.... "Can i join JEDI?" one member namely Paul, became not only the questionaire but the new leader of JEDI, to which he renamed himself to qui-gon and began his long journey in becoming a great of NS (today 2002, he is known as Blade) With qui-gon though very much a noob =P, in charge he began not only to improve in NS at an alarming rate, but took control of JEDI by the scruff of the neck settling the nerves of Yoda in particular =). With members such as the Hitman, Yoda, CaptainNeeda, qui-gon and many others, JEDI took back that to which it once had. As time grew on qui-gon left the JEDI leader scene for other callings =). But the JEDI guild continued to build and what lied in the future was a de'javue of the past. A haunting that never leaves some people...

Epoch IV- Ghost from the past
With the constant arguments of who was the leader of JEDI and I should be the leader. A figure it seemed rose from the dead. The founder of JEDI DarthVader returned, and took control with the allegiance of CaptainNeeda and Yoda, all remembering there loyalty to the first leader. While DarthVader controlled JEDI, JEDI sky rocketed literally. The JEDI council meetings were reintroduced and clan wars became illegal. No JEDI could harm a fellow JEDI. At this time JEDI became a plague throughout NS, JEDI knights swarming the arena. New members such as Obi-wan and Luke appeared and many others without starwars names =P. But again the ghosts of the past haunted the old leader, as a strong NS player Darth Sideous divided JEDI in 2. DarthVader who was still derusting lost many members to Darth Sideous' new guild, Jedi. Yoda, Toblet and CaptainNeeda stayed at DarthVaders side, while many others joined the impressive Darth Sideous, who by all means was a great player. Times were tough in JEDI as a third JEDI guild entered the arena. And after much JEDI clan wars =( between guilds DarthVader left the NS scene. Soon after that DarthSideuos left, and the third JEDI guild.... well they didnt last long =(. Even Yoda left his name behind after seeing so many tragic events in his JEDI life. Again JEDI decreased in numbers, though not in many, just that there was no authority in place. But during this short period one member who I praise greatly for his efforts, especially when I doubted his ability, put his life into JEDI to prove me wrong, and thank god he did.

Epoch V- Unspoken Hero
Throughout the last 2 epochs, since the start of qui-gon, one member of JEDI was often slandered by his name. He did not know nor did I for that matter that DarthVader would appear. But he was constantly asking me, to let him lead JEDI. This name who has just recently left NS i feel saddened, as his name will always bring a smile to my face, DarthVader =) He was not the old founder DarthVader, but anotehr DarthVader just to make things difficult, but after the old founder left, he stood up among us all and brought back JEDI again. At some stages I recall, there were too many JEDI in the arena =P. And not were all noobs, for he spent great time helping to train all these members, and though he was not a great NS player, though still very good, he managed to organise and control JEDI without a problem. This was the Augustus age =P for JEDI. As DarthVader (the new) brought no conflicts between JEDI members not 1 clan war =). And with his recent departure, I hope he reads this one day, so he can realize how much I thought of his efforts for JEDI and the praise I give him now, Thank you. But with Darth gone and only one last member of the old JEDI clan CaptainNeeda, where is JEDI heading now..... -CaptainNeeda

Epoch VI - Reflection
When Darth left the skies it all turned a bit crazy with members dropping out left and right and no real leader known. TheGeneral contacted DarthVader and told him of the situation and requested leadership so he could get JEDI back together. The new leadership consisted of a three prong pyramid with TheGeneral as leader of JEDI and DeathSlayer and CaptainNeeda as co-leasers. With this system as the base JEDI began recruiting again and a new website was created. JEDI Knights
However the Netstorm server crashed at around that time and many netstorm players left the game. JEDI became stagnant with few players leaving and no players joining. It was an interesting time where JEDI had no wars or any duties to attend. It was a time where JEDI could play friendly games and chill in the zones.

Epoch VII - Explosion
After a very quiet time in JEDI Tobsta made a new JEDI website that looked remarkably sexy. A new server had been put into place and new players were beginning to play Netstorm again. At this time Netstorm exploded as it introduced a sub-guild called PD (Padawan). Members were being recruited left right and center and with JEDI training these PD members some of them became good enough to be JEDI later. One such player was RockLee who started to own many players. With the new wesbite, and the two guilds working together as one JEDI became a huge power house of players will elite skills. CaptainNeeda posted his Windrush on the JEDI website and players became fast Wind Rushers. Ingwe taught players the art of killing golems and unit placement and together with these new teachings JEDI started to own the skies once more. Players like RockLee, BH, Ingwe, Jaron, Tobs, CaptainNeeda and many more became excellent players. Ingwe was the first player to win the Netstorm tournament in JEDI history. We had many members reach the finals and semi finals too. We destroyed the bounty islands and in 3s won most of our games. It was a time of productivity and expansion and glory.

Epoch VIII - Change
Like any population explosion there is an end and in time many of JEDI's elite players went inactive and the PD guild lost members. During this quiet spell a new guild was formed for training noobs to get Netstorm back into action. CaptainNeeda temporarily left JEDI for 6 months to help create this guild and train noobs. During this time in JEDI there was very unstable as members started to contemplate about leaving JEDI too. However with some encouraging they all stayed and in the first time in JEDI history JEDI became a republic with no leaders. Now JEDI runs itself through a voting system and worked without a single domineering leader. CaptainNeeda also returned to JEDI and since then a few new members have joined PD as part of a new JEDI/PD Apprentice program where every JEDI member selects one ns player to become there PD and trains them to be a JEDI. Things are now looking up!
